From the OPORD (with photos!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Id77BUcN93Elf08wffL7ylafHQIhp81z-g-b6OWLhl0/edit?usp=sharing Background: Rogue elements of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AFRF) ‘Old Guard’ have long held a grudge against the Western Santa Claus going back to their days within the communist party. Luckily for children around the world, their desire for action has always been checked by the more progressive factions of the government and each year these elements have been held under close watch for the dates between 22-26 December by the Russian High Command. Unfortunately, with the turbulence of 2020, these safeguards were not successfully enacted, leaving the Old Guard with an opportunity to strike. Situation: NORAD, the traditional NATO tracking station for Santa Claus’ yearly mission, reported an unexpected deviation from the path followed by a total loss of tracking on the Sleigh at 2334Z. OPIR data of several Surface-to-Air missile sites which became active and fired within the northern regions of Russia and the resulting missile tracks have been correlated in time and space to correspond to Santa’s deviation. Subsequent ISR of the Sleigh’s last known location (IVO Bovec) shows significant AFRF activity near what has been assessed at high confidence to be the downed Magical Sleigh. While what appears to be small horses or reindeer are still on site, no sign of Santa Claus has been detected. On a wider scan, however, small parcels (‘presents’) can be seen surrounding the crash site and it is assessed Santa likely shed these packages in a failed attempt to stay airborne. The Government of the Russian Federation is concerned about the trustworthiness of its own forces to attack fellow Russians, so is instead seeking discreet NATO intervention to avoid international embarrassment and a panic of children around the world. NATO has agreed to dispatch a clandestine response force composed from the militaries and clandestine services of the member countries.
